Biography

 

Kim Correll is an Assistant Professor in Communication and Theatre here at Dalton State. She spent the first 6 years as an adjunct and the last five years full time.  She has been teaching Fundamentals of Speech, Theater Appreciation, Children's Theatre and Acting as well as directing productions here at Dalton State. Those include: Christmas Belles, Bus Stop, Godspell, The Curious Savage, and Little Shop of Horrors. She also began the Dalton State Theatre for Young People which tours to the local elementary schools in the spring semesters. 

  She has taught Public Speaking at DeVry University in Los Angeles, and was an ESL teacher for many years in Burbank, CA. Kim is native of Ringgold GA. She graduated from Jacksonville State University in Alabama with her BA in Drama and then received her MFA in acting from University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Kim spent many years pursuing her acting career in North Carolina, Alabama, Chicago and Los Angeles. She has many stage credits to her name and has done a variety of  TV , Film, and Commercials. Her talent has also been behind the camera as well.  Since returning home to Ringgold 17 years ago, she spent a lot of time producing, writing, hosting, and directing a wide variety of Television shows, commercials; one of which is a  documentary series on the history of Catoosa County. She even hosted her own cooking show called Tasty Traditions and a gardening show called How Does Your Garden Grow as well as a kids show called Webster’s Alley. She has also directed two musicals at Ringgold High School.  In her spare time, she has her own business called Mizz Kim’s Creations where she makes bath and body products. She is married to Robin Christian, who works for Gadsden Music and is retired from being the band director at  Ringgold High School. She also has a precious fur baby named Ruby Claire!
